love the book by Agatha Christie. The video was also very good.

If you're a die-hard Christie fan, then this is an obvious must purchase. For those wanting a little well-written mystery, then this is equally a good purchase. However, for those seeking the classic Christie's (and the classic Poirot's), this isn't one of them. The reason seems to lie in two major areas: firstly, an overwhelming reliance on star names in the cast who sometimes play characatures of the 1930s aristocracy, or otherwise have a tendency to play themselves; and secondly a slight departure by Christie into widening the field of suspects which, although integral to the plot, harms the usual bafflement which comes from knowing only four people had a motive but they all had no opportunity, or vice-verser. This leads to a climax which, when it comes, seems to be more a relief that it's over than an appreciation of 'the little grey cells'. Not the best, but put side by side with some of the other adaptations and it makes you realise how well they are usually made.Read full review
Having been a long-time fan of Hercules Poirot, I was delighted to be able to buy an old story and was not disappointed with my purchase. I decided to buy this as I had not previously seen it available in DVD format. I thoroughly enjoyed it and, as usual, M. Poirot did not let me down. I look forward to collecting many, many more.
