I first borrowed a different Princess Poppy book from the library to make sure the age range was right, my (2 yr old)daughter loved it so much I bought this book/cd for her to listen to at bed time. We read the book together first so she knew what was going to happen (she still young enough to get scared by anyone who is a baddie or has loud voices in stories) and then she listened to it during the day so she knew what it was going to sound like (and danced to it and dressed up like a ballerina!!). She loves this story, although the "meaning" of the story is about coping with not winning she has no concept of this just loves dancing around like a ballerina and goes to sleep listening to it. I would strongly recommend this series of books for girls 2 yrs onwards, although the meaning would be lost at this age they will grow with it and their all about the pretty pink/princess things little girls love. I've just ordered more of the series for her birthday. I would suggest this series of books would be enjoyed from 2 yrs until a child is moving onto Harry Potter.Read full review
