Simple to fit and works well

I bought this switch to control an existing bathroom fan which couldn't be connected to a light circuit. I mounted it inside the existing fan ( a lot cheaper than buying a PIR fan) and it works very well. Seems well made, good case and circuit board is neat. DIP switches a bit fiddly but do the job. If anything it's over sensitive (even on low sensitivity) but that's no big deal.

    Works, but range is poor

It's hard to find the differences between recessed PIR sensors on eBay as most of them looks identical. So I tried this one, as my old one died after couple of years. New one works, but that's the only positive thing. It is much louder than old one and the range is very poor. Old one catches movement 5 metres from it, this one 1-1.5 metres away. Sometimes I have to be nearly under it to make it "click". My corridor is about 3 metres long, so when I manually turn off light in the kitchen I except the PIR to turn the lights straight on. But I can stand there in pitch black for ages and it won't do that. So I have to walk toward it and after few steps it works. So old one was to sensitive, I've had to restrict it with tape, this one is literally blind. Time and Lux dials works though, but have no influent to the poor range

  • Small compact product,

Looks good when installed, good quality and the benefit of easy to get to adjustment controls by twisting the bevel off after it has been fitted. Good detection range, impressed.

  • Low quality PIR

Works well but poor build quality. Cable clamp screws stripped on delivery, screws very short. Spring clips very weak/ poorly designed. Sometimes hangs down from ceiling when pushed into hole. In conclusion, it works but there are better one out there.

  • Reece pir sensor

As whole it's a half decent quality sensor apart from the fact that it pucks up heat and then causes the lights to act like a strobe light so as a self-employed electrician I rely on reputation and doing a good job so getting called back to fix a fault that was caused by the sensor and extra expense and a lot of testing to find it so maybe it would be a good idea to put that in the description/item specifics reece7277

  • Let there be light

A bit sensitive when first installed, lit spuriously, now settled down works well. Wire through a switch to give option of automatic or manual operation seems best design.

  • Works perfectly

I bought it to switch a porch light, mounting it in the ceiling alongside the lamp which was already in place. Isn't obvious, and does its job well. It seems well-made, and has worked flawlessly for a couple of years: no reason to think this will change.

  • Faulty on arrival

Have to return it at my cost even though not fit for purpose as faulty on arrival. If you want one that works at a reasonable price screwfix sell a good one for just under a tenner! Don't waste your time with this inferior rubbish!

  • Hands free now

No more switch hunting. Discreetly sits in ceiling . Time and ambient adjustment ok. Tip, take off spring furthest from settings then push HALF way in while trying different settings. When set put spring back on a fully insert.
