Great gameplay for a handheld game, good graphics, engaging story running through the game. One of the best titles in the original PSP

Really can't see what all the fuss is about with this game. I bought it with high expectations as it was apparently a legendary shooter for the PSP. After a few hours gaming on it I can safely say it is one of the most average, linear and completely bland games I have played. It is basically a corridor room corridor etc. 3rd person shooter, which uses the now defacto dull cover mechanic (thanks Gears of War) extensively only with pretty much compulsary auto aim. Tbh it's hard to see how the development team could have avoided this as the PSP is not equipped for accurate aiming. Basically it's either used the four buttons for aiming or swap left and right around and use the terrible analog nub. So it's predictable, uninvolving and the characters are completely forgettable (there's a tough guy with a gruff voice, how original!), so why do people like it? Well it turns out people like that kind of thing nowadays, I got the same feeling when I played God of War on the PSP - a boring game designed for teenage boys who like repetive games where they don't have to think. Just be thankful the PSP has some much better games including an excellent remake of Rondo of Blood (with the original and SotN for good measure). Should you buy it? I don't know, I guess if you like films with Vin Diesel or The Rock in then it might be right up your street. If you actually appreciate real gameplay then download Cave Story instead, it's fee and miles better than this.Read full review
