The Chan/Tucker pairing - although starting to fill out a little in the looks department - still holds all the original talent and more, only refined now - it's more glossy and more OTT than the first two, but that's what we were hoping for - surely? Yes it's just the same story with a slight angle - buddies/enemies, take on the bad guys, explore a little sentimentality in an exotic and sexy location, meet hot chicks, get into loads of hilarious scrapes, but eventually save the day. For that most films score a doughnut, a big fat zero, but all is forgiven on the creativity front because of the magic of Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan. I truly believe you could pair the two of them together and just watch hours of footage - that's why we know there'll be, and wait for, the outtakes in the end credits. If you liked the first two, you'll like this. The story is as far fetched as the death-defying acts of heroism they perform, more so than the first two, but let's face it, we didn't come for a cerebral experience or to see realism and analyse anything. We came for the visceral thrill of watching two exceptionally cool characters whupp some bad guys in a funny, slapstick fashion. After all, as everyone knows, the greatest form of humour is violence (cartoons anyone?). Honestly - I can't understand why anyone would give negative criticism - surely by the third film you'd know what to expect? Rush Hour 3 - Chan/Tucker, still got the chemistry to make it big, stupid, and hugely entertaining.Read full review
