This heater is far too light to be used on the substrate. It is supplied with a sucker, which is too stiff to adhere to the acrylic biorb tank. It needs the softer black suckers to work properly. Very overpriced, but if you want a piece of posh-looking technology for its own sake, go ahead and spend your cash! The bright white cable is also too stiff, which makes the heater move very easily in the tank. You will also need to buy the power pod.

I now feel safe and not at risk of electrocution from 240 volts of my previous tank heater .. that was always a concern to me. now just 12 volts from all my electrical tank fittings seem a very wise move...

I thought this was a good product untill my first big water change I turned off unit and it wouldn't turn the heater back on. No lights on heater and no power coming out of base where the heater connects.the lights and pump still worked so was power to base ok but not putting out power to heater. Bought a heater for 20 pound and has worked fine please dont waste your money
