Only had this Bd player for a short time and to date all seems to be fine. Played 2 Region A Bd and they appeared ok. I was given an updated version and currently I do not have to do any Sony firmware updates. The start time is much faster than my old Sony Region B bd, but it could have been a few seconds quicker. The upscalling of dvds is good, subject to you having an up to date smart 1080p flat screen tv. The audio is fine too and once again subject to a good pair of active 2.1 speakers. The bd player is small and convenient but appears to be somewhat flimsy which is a minor point. I still have not fully explored the contraction in full. However, I would like to comment positively on the seller who is very professional and helpful and the Sony bd player came in its original packing with all its relevant stuff, and is very nicely packed. This is an excellent unit, very compact and does what it says - plays multi-region Blu-Ray discs and DVDs. Simple enough to install and use and it fits neatly into my entertainment unit. Should have no problems now when needing to purchase media that is not coded for the European region.
