Works extremely well. It has an adjustment mode and mybcat got used to it in no time. Seems to be of good quality and so far no problems what soever

Bought this to protect food from my food thief cat so my other cat would have food throughout the day while I'm at work. Found my food thief just climbs in next to the other cat while he's eating. Does work great and exactly as advertised except for the part about stopping the food thief!

We have three cats and a dog. We leave food down for the cats so they can eat when they are hungry. This brings with it four problems. 1 - the dog will eat the cats food if she gets the opportunity. Cat food is very high in calories and is not good for dogs as a result = fat dog. 2 - Two of the cats are young and we have an older one, so they need different food. 3 - Even with a fly catcher light, there's always the danger of flies contaminating the food. 4 - Wet food left out gets dried out and stale and is wasted as the cats will not eat it. This feeder (we have two) solves all these problems. The cats only eat the food intended for them, the dog can't get to it and the food stays fresh longer so is not wasted - and the flies can't get to it. The only reason I haven't given it / them 5 stars is the cost. RRP around £100 for a pet food dish is horrendous. Even the £50-odd I actually paid is a bit much, but if you can afford it and it solves the problem(s), go for it.Read full review

I have been debating one of these since getting my dog and being unable to train her to stop eating the cats dry food. I spent more time buying more cat food than my own. I purchase one of these and although it has a training button I never needed it. I simply click the button to register my cats microchip and put some food in. She began munching straight away. Lifting her away from the food the machine closed letting us know it knew the chip. She instantly went back. It opened and voila. She has been putting her head the right way in every time. And if the dog pushes her aside the machine closes quite quickly as I put the speed up and the dog jumps from the noise. Pros: * Dog cannot get in. * Food stays fresh. * Cat easily learned how it worked. * Money saver. * Quick setup. Cons: * A tad noisy opening and closing.Read full review

It’s taking a while for my more cautious cat to get used to the bowl, but I have 2 cats on different diets so this bowl will save many upset stomachs and hours spent trying to prevent them from eating each others food. I like the learning mode which allows your cat to gradually get used to the opening mechanism. I just wish the bowls were available in other materials because I find that plastic retains smells.
