This Samsung EcoGreen F2 1.5 TB, Internal, 5400 RPM, 8.89 cm (3.5-inch) (HD154UI) Hard Drive is an internal hard drive. Featuring a SATA II interface, this Samsung EcoGreen 1.5 TB hard drive is compatible with most computers in the market. Its 32 MB cache helps assure that common processes and programs sit at the front of this Samsung EcoGreen 1.5 TB hard drive for quicker loading times. A 5,400 revolution-per-minute spindle speed helps it access and load all non-cached processes and programs quickly. Additionally, this Samsung hard disc is compatible with either a Mac or PC and has a 3.5-inch form factor, so it fits in most common computers. Its average seek time–the time this Samsung hard disc takes to find data–is just 8.9 ms, which helps speed up overall loading times. It also features a maximum data transfer rate of 3 GB per second, so loading programs take lesser time. Samsung’s NoiseGuard and SilentSeek help to keep the noise level to a minimum while this internal hard drive searches for a program of process: 5 dB at idle and 28 dB in “Seek” mode. The Samsung EcoGreen 1.5 TB hard drive uses a maximum of just 6.3 watts, so its draw on a computer’s power source is not high, keeping temperatures low. Its high capacity, quick load times, and quiet operation make this Samsung hard drive a good choice for the average user.

Good high capacity hard drive, performs well for 5400 rpm, easy install
It's a 1.5Tb hard drive and it works! Seems the 'Ecogreen' label refers to lower power consumption of lower spin speed (5400) but using it in an Network Attached Storage server so lower speed not an issue while any power saving could be useful. Played around with various formats (OSX, NTFS, FAT32) for inquisitiveness and all worked flawlessly.

Although 5400 rpm I'd use it as a main drive.
Windows 7 needs a larger hard drive for the Automatic Windows 7 Back Up than the disc holding the programs and data. I have a 1 TB main drive so I bought this 1.5 TB drive as my automatic back up drive. It is reasonably silent in operation. My main drive runs at 7200 rpm; although this drive runs at only 5400 rpm it is totally adequate for use as a back up drive and I would be quite happy using it as a main drive. I reformatted it NTFS.

Hard disk had multiple errors, and the guarantee was not transferable from the original purchaser, even though the disk had never been used. Got refund from original supplier, but it cost me alot to snd it back registered post. If I had bought from original supplier at least I would have had a 2 year guarantee, therefore it is not worth buying these on Ebay.

This disk performs as expected
I bought this disk because I was building a new desk top computer. I have installed Windows 7 on this disk, the installation was very easy and the disk has performed as expected from a disk from this manufacturer.
