Was looking for a reliable smartphone after having less than good results from 'Cheap Smart Phones' which looked to be good value but not happy with either phone or performance. Battery life was dreadful and keeping phone in shirt pocket resulted in phone overheating and flattening battery. Thought the Samsung Galaxy S5 would be refurbished but looks brand new to me and is a joy to handle also for an oldie like me the phone is easy to use and screen with larger icons is great for those who wear specs. All in all very pleased with the Galaxy S5, not the latest but the product reviews from 2014 onward showed how good this phone is, would recommend to all those in their Autumn Years.

The "OK" rating for this phone is given because you should only buy it if you need to replace a UK model Galaxy G5 and never intend to go to a non-GSM country nor explore the advanced menus. Simple reason: this model is manufactured for the Middle East and if you go into the "Mobile networks" menu, you ill be unable to set it back to 2G/3G/4G for UK use - the only choices are CDMA or LTE/CDMA, neither of which work in the UK. If you are unfortunate enough to do this accidentally, the only way to restore the phone to working order is: 1 - Download the Samsung "SmartSwitch" software; 2 - Take a complete back-up of the phone, and save your app settings to a Google or Samsung account as per the User Guide; 3 - Factory reset the phone by powering down, hold the volume up and menu buttons whilst pressing power on; 4 - From the Android recovery menu, select "Factory reset"; 5 - After restarting the phone (it could take up to 15 minutes or so), restore your own apps and settings.Read full review

Better to wait and buy a smartphone which was top of the shelf a couple of years ago. Samsung are now up to S9 and the usability hasn't changed much. The phone gives you all you need to communicate and at a price that is about 25% of new. More modern phones will give you some extras, but if you are the kind who must have all the bells and whistles your not going to go down the pre-owned (secondhand) route, but if you want to move up a gear, a phone that is 18-24 months old, refurbished this is the way to go.

It was such a good price i thought there would be somthing wrong with it. It is very good value. I do get lots more adds than my old samsung though, which i could do without.
