I have personally tried out this saw, on on a rather large tree branch to see how it would cope the branch was about 7 to 8 inches across. And I treated the branch as I would if using a chainsaw but I only used the samurai except for it taking longer to cut no fault to the saw. it done an excellent job very controlled and it dropped the branch exactly where i intended. You would not use this saw in the way that I have described above, you could but not sure how long it would last if you did. it would be perfectly suited to cutting 1-inch to 2 1/2 inches very easily and quickly. The curved blade makes it easy to cut on the pull action and gets to cut a part of the other side. Ideal for trimming and pruning small trained trees and bushes where a power tool is not needed. After I did cut that big branch off I I then cut the rest of it up into pieces using my much loved husqvarna as I had to much big stuff to do and I didn't want to be there for weeks on end lol. If you've only got one tree looking for a light trim this is one cracking handsaw. It comes any hard plastic outer case with a quick release clip attachment so if it's around your belt the outer case can be removed with the saw inside. If I ever need to get another one I wouldn't hesitate too. But mine will be for use while in a tree on small branches.Read full review

Bought this to prune trees and coppice hazel on my land , it’s very sharp, lightweight , ergonomic handle , well balanced and makes cutting wood easy. I would recommend it !! Coppiced enough hazel in one day to weave into a 6m fence And make a Gate the next.

This is an excellent quality saw. The curved blade cuts through branches easily with its tempered / hardened teeth. It cuts on the 'pull' stroke (as opposed to the more familiar 'push' stroke) but this is not an issue because the effort required is minimal because of the saw's sharpness. The handle is very comfortable to grip and the sheath / belt clip is very useful when up a ladder and you need two hands free. I looked at less expensive straight-bladed saws and also those that cut on both strokes, but decided this was worth the extra cost without having to buy a Silky. I'm expecting this to last a very long time.

Really like this saw. Very aggressive tooth pattern, cuts well and doesn't bind. Comfortable handle and the saw stows nicely in the well designed sheath with a useful belt loop. There may be better saws, but definately not at this price. A great buy.
