I have read others in the series but found this one a bit tedious. Too much occupied with the hero's affairs with women, which is not what I read it for. His involvement with the Great Mutiny and the final result, while being well worked out, is too long drawn out. I didn't enjoy it I'm afraid, although the author's knowledge of ships and the period is exceptionally good. I don't enjoy his portrayal of the sailors' coarse language either.
