This is an archive drive, decent read speed but SLOW writing. It’s designed to service read request to data THAT CHANGES INFREQUENTLY! It’s not a desktop drive that needs lots of paging requests, it’s not a video editing storage drive (which writes continuous large files), it’s NOT backup drive that needs fast dat a storage and retrieval. I used it in my media server to play locally stored movie files. Does the job. It is very keen to park the heads at a moments notice, resulting in a slight clicking sound. Was worse under Linux but not so prominent in Windows.
