Sennelier watercolour paints are thick and rich in texture. The honey has a tendancy to effect the saturation of the pigments on the paper. The paint thickens and dries quickly. Though if you spray it with water you can reactivate it. Like all watercolour paints, the more water you add the more transparent the paint will become. However, due to the honey being used to blend this paint, it can be a little problematic if you are new to watercolour paints. Blending and mixing can be a little streaky, and can grandulate. This set is a teavel set, it contains 14 half pans of paint with a sliding out section which has a mixing pallet, and a number 1 brush. It slides back into place as you close the pallet lid. It can also be removed to be cleaned. There is no water container or any spare space. So you will need to provide extras and a bag to carry it in. I find I use mine both outside and in my studio. I've tried this paint on a number of various papers. The paint is good on them all, however, the thicker papers are more successful. A little goes along way. So this set should last a professional quite a long time. I wouldn't advise an amateur to use these paints as they are expensive, and a little fussy when blending and mixing colours. On the whole, I really like them, the colours are vibrant and light fast. Dry quickly, activate really well, and go along way. I highly recommend them.Read full review
