This rewiew is taken from the ultimate edition... To enter the mind of a killer she must challenge the mind of a madman. Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster deliver knockout Oscar-winning performances in this shocking, powerful thriller. This terrifying masterpiece of suspense garnered five Adademy Awards including Best Director and the coveted Best Picture. Believing it takes one to know one, the FBI send in Agent Clarice Starling to interview an insane prisoner who may provide psychological Dr. Hannibal Lecter. The Silence of the lambs has always been my favourite film. In fact, I would credit this film with kick-starting my interest in serial killers. Anthony Hopkins' portrayal of Hannibal Lecter is so realistic, you begin to wonder whether Tony is a serial killer pretending to be an actor. I owned the original DVD release of the film but thought that the ultimate edition, with all its special features, would be superior. One of the many perks you get from the ultimate edition is the number of special features it contains. I liked how many there were and how in depth they each went. On top of the special features, I also like the digipak cover. This makes the product look better aesthetically and improves its durability. I can't think of a single thing I disliked about the film, everything from the cover art to the picture quality was perfect. I would highly recommend this ultimate edition of the Silence of the lambs to anyone who's a fan of the genre. You can't go wrong.Read full review
Gritty Thriller/Horror movie starring the brilliant Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter. Jodie Foster plays an young FBI agent trying to solve a string of Murders. She is sent to pick the brains of previous serial killer Lecter, who now resides in Jail. The film contains some horrific scenes but don't the that alone put you off, this film is awesome and so are the performances in it. I would like to write more, but I'm having an old friend for dinner........
This is one of the films you MUST see in your lifetime. No one could have played Hannibal Lector with anymore menace than Anthony Hopkins. The follow on flims of the series were good, Hannable Rising was a disappointment but Silence was were it started. Not a film to watch while eating liver and onions or kidney's not unless you have a nice glass of Chianti. Enjoy
This is a fast paced movie which keeps you on the edge of your seat. Anthony Hopkins portrays a Ted Bundy killer persona. He lures his victims with helpless and then viciously torments them. This movie is good, although not for the faint of heart. Several disturbing scenes of dismembered body parts and gruesome images. A great movie for someone who has a strong stomach and an interest in serial killers.
