There was no way to tighten the kitchen tap backnut with the tools I had. It was either get a plumber in or try this inexpensive tool. I decided on the tool first and glad I did - it did the job perfectly once I managed to get the tool on the backnut and used a spanner on the other end as opposed to the tommy bar. Quality wise, I think in constant use it wouldn't last long, however given the price if it worked just once it would be worth it. As it happens, I have used it to install a new sink in cloakroom and it is still very functional. I'm happy with the purchase.

While I struggled to find a spanner to fix my aunties loose monobloc tap, I realized that there was not enough space to get your hand up inside the sink. I sent for the silver line monobloc tap set. Job done easy. If you cant reach with one socket length then you can slot two together. Good price on E-bay too !

Made the mistake of buying a long reach socket for the job. Had to buy this low tech box spanner as the socket walls were too thick. This box spanner did an excellent job and as there are four sizes represent fantastic value for money.

For changing a monobloc tap, theses box spanners are perfect. The tap I removed was one size, the new one was slightly smaller. Two spanners made the job easy, why struggle..

Required to tighten new tap loose anchor nut, without having these box spanners I would have had to disconnect the water and waste pipes and lift the sink out of the cabinet. It was a 10 minute job using one of these spanners.
