I bought this game for the girlfriend a few weeks back and she absolutely loves it She had always wanted it and was not let down by her own expectations. I had only played the first sims before i played this and the massive difference is incredible. Its the small things that blow me away like putting items at an angle, having a basement and the sims doing things for themselves aswell. So glad i got her it she loves building the houses and plays it for hours! (which is good so i can go on the xbox for a while haha) But overall a great product. My only negative is the cost of the expantion packs i find these should be no more than £20 each in my eyes, paying an extra £30 for add ons is rediculous.
I had no problems with the Seller, but wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Bought it for my daughter, who's a huge Sims 2 fan. She's wanted this since it came out, but the system requirements were beyond her computer's limits. Eventually we upgraded the system, hopped on to ebay, and bought it. So first off, I was a bit annoyed that they'd set the spec so high for a game - seemed a bit over the top. Never mind, let's install it. It took AGES (well over an hour) and bear in mind the PC was no slouch by this time. When it finally ran, very slowly, it immediately came up with an error message saying it gouldn't verify the CD. Oh no, thinks I, been ripped of with a dodgy serial number. But quick trawl on internet showed lots of other people having same problem. Eventually tracked down the official fix, which involved some mucking about with various bits, and certainly not easy for a non - expert. (Bear in mind this is a game for kids). Anyhoo, fix didn't work. No working patch was available. The support was rubbish. At this point, it's taken me about 4 hours, and I know my way round computers - and that's not includng the original computer upgrading to make it work in the first place. On trying it on 2 other PC's, it did the same. Eventually, daughter took pity on me and decided it wasn't worth the hassle, bless her. But here's the best bit - according to my online researching, (and I'm not advocating this, it's just what other people were saying!), the only reliable method available to fix it was to download a pirate copy...We didn't bother, we were both so heartily sick of the sloppiness of their game programming, we decided not to waste any more time on it.Read full review
I initially bought this for my 8 year old daughter as DS games can be limited in use but this PC version has endless possibilities.....the trouble is i'm now hooked on playing it. The graphics are good compared to some PC games, the design mode is fab for really personalizing your characters and there is just so much to do, see and change that you can easily lose a good couple of hours on here. A great purchase for anyone who already understands the Sims format but also great for new sims fans as it has an almost step by step tutorial through the game though this can be turned off once you know what you're doing.
I bought this as a distraction/relaxing game to play. I really like the new interactive features, such as going to town to buy groceries and books. The new game play items are extensive and interesting. It's more interactive now that the Sims age.You can also really customize the appearance of your Sims. The game would be even better if the Sims spoke real words. It's definitely an improvement over the last two versions of this game.
I bought it as a present! Because our 12 year old girl wanted one and as far as I know she is really (extremelly) happy!!! with it! it is working properly and works fine in our laptop and it was easy to set it up. We also had to buy it as apparently if you don't have it you can not use other SIMS games, you had to set this one up first in order to install other games! I hope this helps!
