Gone but not forgotten - the group that along with Elastica showed the Spice Girls what true "Girl Power" was, representing the fairer sex in the male dominated Britpop era, to my mind the equal of Oasis and Blur. Louise’s seductive lyrics coupled with electro pop melodies and indie-rock guitar was the perfect recipe for classic anthems such as Alice in Vein, Vegas and Inbetweener interspersed with the witty narratives of What do I do now? and Lie Detector making comfortable bed fellows. 1996 was perhaps the height of their success with hits such as Sale of the Century and Nice guy Eddie; in this year Louise was also voted the 37th Sexiest woman of 1996 - FHM. This album is pure gold taking the best of the three albums and including one of the overlooked but very good 'B' side (Bedside Manners). If you heard this band but never bought a single this is a must have.Read full review
