If you're a Spiral addict, like me, and missed the first series, this one doesn't disappoint. It is gritty and gripping and sets the scene for future series. Highly recommended for compulsive viewing.
superb french cop drama would have got top marks except that the ending was too woolly obviously they expected it to tie into the next series but even so there could have been a bit more explanation regarding some of the characters behavior. still i would recommend this to anyone.
pdg Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.
This is a very French series .A sort of cross between many new thrillers ie CSI 24 etc etc . The seies is set in Paris Lots of French moody lighting , French stereotyping. My husband and I loved it we can not wait for series 2 to be released Yes it has subtitles but they were not intrusive and it was a great entertainment .
