These headphones sound awesome for gaming, they have a great frequency balance that gives good highs with a very nice ranges for bass sounds to differentiate between higher and lower bass frequencies. Volume wheel and mute button are very convenient for quick actions and it's easy to switch between PC and console/phone use with the split leads. Microphone tucks away fully to give a nice clean look, and the Arctis 3 don't stand out like standard gaming headphones, so you can wear them out and about. Mic quality is great too. One downside is that they are advertised as 7.1 surround sound, however this is an artificial 7.1 surround (PC only) and isn't the real thing. Even when using the Steelseries engine on PC, I noticed the most miniscule difference in the sound, and it was really a surround sound change, just a way to mix up the frequency a tiny bit. Makes pretty much no difference so they're not really 7.1 headphones. You can't get a 7.1 sound without the 7.1 drivers in the first place, especially on headphones. Does a good job as a gaming headset otherwise, and I'm quite the audiophile myself.Read full review
