I purchased this having seen the 2017 IT chapter one ....I really enjoyed this version being a TV drama version it had a slower pace the acting by the children and adults was brilliant .I found all the characters engaging and felt by the end I knew them all .I'm so glad I've watched both versions as even though the storyline is the same both take different twists of the book . I expected it to be a little bit old in technical ability but wasn't dissapointed at all .Tim Curry as you would expect is excellent in this role the part was made for him. Fully recommend .....

By today's standard this is pretty dated now. I remember seeing this in the late 90's and it was really good, on watching it, it seemed like more of a comedy. Don't get me wrong, the characters and the acting is top notch, it was just missing something. It's definetly worth watching though, maybe after the new film.

There's not much I can say that hasn't been said before, but despite negative ratings on sites like Rotten Tomatoes, this isn't terrible in the least. Remember, it's was a TV miniseries with TV actors. Whilst the new film is visually stunning and provides loads of jump scares and an incredibly menacing Pennywise, this 90s version is a good representation of the book considering it's time. This version did something the new film didn't once, give me goosebumps several times throughout. I think this is due to having just recently read the book for the first time, but just about every time Mike makes a phone call to one of the losers (now grown up and long forgotten to each other) to tell them "IT" has returned, gave me chills. Overall it is enjoyable if a bit budget, and c'mon, Tim Curry as Pennywise is a classic depiction of a threatening alien entity brought to life through our nightmares. Unfortunately it is let down by a pretty shoddy ending, but I for one will give credit where credit is due. I enjoyed ITRead full review

It missed scenes out and there was a discussion between two people about how the film was made coming out over the film dialog so you couldn't hear what the actors were saying, therefore missing the plot.

This mini series is far more entertaining and true to the book than the recent big budget film.
