I bought this to replace a microwave oven over 30 years old when it expired. The 900 W output makes a big difference, not that common on basic no frills microwave. I was keen to get another microwave with straightforward controls, as I have better things to do in the kitchen than stand around pressing buttons. This does the trick even better than the one it replaced: no door open button, no start button: perfect. The big let down is the very poor design of the control knobs. Look at the first photo. Can you see where the knobs are pointing? Not easy at a glance across the kitchen. Fortunately it is easily fixed by applying carefully shaped insulating tape to them (2nd photo). A pity Swan let the designer get away with his retro fantasy without thinking that someone might actually want to use the controls rather than admire them. (I say "he", as the designer was obviously a man - as am I - I don't think a woman would have made such a blunder.) A very minor issue is that the turntable is difficult to re-locate when putting it back in after cleaning. On the whole though I am very pleased with it.Read full review

Wife was fed up with the over the top features on existing microwave and just wanted one where you had 2 control knobs rather than a host of touch screen type. This is fantastic with one rotary knob for power level and one for time setting. Absolutely everything we were looking for. Highly recommended product. Great value for money.
