This is an excellent drone. I have a couple of drones that have more features, but this is becoming my favorite. The included camera is pretty good. The camera draws power from the battery, so I took it off and use a RunCam. The altitude hold makes this an easy flyer. I would consider this as a good starter drone that you won't outgrow quickly. When the battery starts getting low it will not climb past a certain altitude and will automatically start to land. Lights will flash letting you know that this is happening. I have installed a carbon fiber gimbal with a GoPro clone, and it will lift it with no problems. If you are new to the whole drone thing I would recommend this one to get you started in the hobby.

I only gave it 4 stars , this is only because on installations of blades it's not clear on instructions why blades are marked as A1 A2 B1 B2 when the drone only has markings for A or B positions. It's A bit confusing if you are a beginner. However after 30 mins putting it together and charging battery. The test flight ONCE calibration was done , was excellent. Find an open area if you new to drones and start of on a low flight practice. I'd recommend the X8HG to any one looking for a easy start off drone hobby. YouTube the model and see reviews . Oh yes and make sure you put blade bumpers on if your flying for 1st time 👍

The Syma X8HG is a nice candy red good looking drone...first thing is this drone feels solid and not cheaply made like other Syma models..it's a big drone so it's intimidating to take in flight for those who are still amateurs..But I can say it flys real nice...the Headless mode is good for those that are learning to fly a bigger drone...Altitude hold seems to work well if it's not on a bad windy day (not recommended)...but it does hold on a 5 to 10mph winds pretty good..the camera is not the best but it does the job and in flight so that's a plus..the LED lights are bright and looks real nice night..it also does stunts but make sure the drone is at a good altitude before performing them as this drone is bit heavy..So if your looking for a nice big drone that performs great and don't break the bank then this will be a nice drone to your collection. I love Syma overall. The X8HG is a great entry level product that delivers consistently high quality performance. Be advised, however, that some people are reporting that they unintentionally shut off the motors during flight due to having held the left control stick back for too long. This is a small thing though, if you make sure never to hold back that stick for more than a second. This thing has great range, and the camera is just great. Very stable...no jelloing for me, though other users have gotten jelloing with the default anti-vibration mount. I highly recommend this. You will find no better camera quad for this price.

For the price this has been a great starter drone for my 11 year old son. The altitude hold, while not perfect, makes the flying so much easier than with drones that do not have it. The drone has been rather durable with ~20 hrs of flight over the last 4 months everything still looks nice and only one of the lights on the drone is out. The camera is functional for photographs and video. The video is jumpy which makes me understand why higher end drones have several axis of stabilization on the gimbal.
