I was very surprised by the build and finish of this lens, it's actually very nice. The zoom ring is smooth and has a bit of resistance so zoom creep should not be a problem in the future. Manual focus is well damped and easy to use, flick the mode button on the side and away you go. Images are nice at f4, by f8 they are getting decent across the full frame and f11 is probably it's sweet spot. 300mm is a tad soft but only if you start blowing images up to silly sizes and are pixel peeping, for the averag person it's more than acceptable. Flare is handled well and the VC system simply works, it's very noticeable when you turn it on while looking through the view finder. It's got decent end caps and the hood which is plasticky is a nice fit and works as it should. In lower light it does start to struggle with focusing but it's an f4 -5.6 lens so that's to be expected. Autofocus is snappy as a general rule and is accurate. It's a decent lens for the money, mine replaced a Nikon 18-200mm Vr lens and I am happy with the decision.Read full review

This lens is a great deal! The build quality is nice, however the zoom ring could be a bit smoother. My one is a bit "sticky" between 200-300 mm. The Vibration Control is truly amazing. The best I've ever worked with. I can't say anything bad of the image quality either. It is clear and sharp. Of course there are lenses with superior image quality, but I think they are well above this one's price range. Before this one I've got only Nikon lenses, but haven't regret buying this one. I liked it better than Nikon's 70-300 VR when I tested them first, and it proved itself worthy so far:)

I looked at a number of reviews before deciding on a zoom lens. I've been playing about with it and the picture quality is excellent. I had to try different AF modes to find the best one, and sometimes it won't automatically go from close focus to infinity without an intermediate step. Not a major issue, and probably not the lens but user error. You really do need good light to get sharp images at 300mm and auto ISO will produce quite a bit of image noise (Nikon D3200) I still have a lot to learn from the lens, but I'm very happy with it.

Ive not really used this lens a lot yet but up till now it has been pretty good. Quality is fine and the sharpness of the photos is excellent as well. Build quality is also excellent for the price and I dont think that you would get much better even if you paid a lot more. I would totally recommend.

I am very satisfied with this product. The image stabilisation is one of the best features of the lens. At 300mm if you want good results then set your aperture between f8-11. It is well built and sturdy but not too heavy. Ordered it from SRS microsystems and arrived very quickly. Using it on a nikon d7200.
