Remember a time before the X-Factory churned out a musical plague, over production compensated for talent and autotune means the charts sound like a Smash advert? From a time not so long ago when musicians needed to have talent and had to actually work for a living rather than be hyped to the point of mass hysteria. Terrorvision was one of the best of the bunch. A pheonix rising from the ashes of the New Romantic/Stadium Rock period; early Terrorvision was like listening to a quiet version of Faith no More and influenced heavily by Metalica. I don't think even they thought they would be as influencial as they were at the time. Before Brit pop became a territorial urinating contest between Blur and Oasis, Terrorvision pioneered the sound that was to become the calling card of the alternative ninetys. This debut album was a little misplaced and recieved a great deal of critical acclaim but not much comercial success. Luckilly they were not phased by this and went on to record two of the best albums ever published. I highly reccomend this as it is the tip of Britpop iceberg, sadly neglected and still as entertaining today as it ever was.Read full review
