Despite the absence of Duane, this is my favourite Allmans recording and having it in this remastered form is a real bonus. The reason I love it so much is that this is the album they were promoting when they came to Britain in the early 70's to play at Knebworth which is when I became a fan. One of the best things about the Allmans and the good old Grateful Dead is the fact that they utilize two drummers. This allows them to weave intricate rhythmic patterns that allow those extended jams to really fly. The other important aspect of the Allman BROTHERS band that is often overlooked is that they were a mixed race band - pretty special considering they were representing the South. If you don't have any Allmans in your life, I recommend you start with Brothers and Sisters still one of my all time favurite albums. Andy Aitken - Clyde Records & BooksRead full review
I bought this for the TOP GEAR theme tune but the whole CD is well worth a listen. I am now playing it in my car. Its a good driving CD too.
