Any horse owner who cares about the welfare of their horse should have a copy. It is clear and easy to read and understand and extremely informative. After all, prevention is better than cure (and cheaper usually) and this book is helpful in understanding what could ail your horse, the causes, symptoms and how to prevent or treat them. Not an alternative to the vet but you may not need to call the vet as often.

A good book with a lot of detail. Would be nice to see a higher level of justification in some parts. The main fault of the book is a real lack of userbility. Would be nice to see things laid out in a clear easy to follow manner whilst instead you have to skirt around attempting to find the information which isn't very useful! Good if you are studying for BHS exams, as a general reference there are better books on the market with more research behind them and clearer lay outs.
