I am child of the 70's and I loved watching The Bionic Woman.. I liked Lindsay Wagner as well.. I am a 70's collector and loved that era.. I am about to purchase all of the Bionic Woman DVD's..
From January 1976 to May 1978, television viewers were treated to one of the most unique, most likable and most popular characters ever to grace the small screen; Lindsay Wagner starring as Jamie Sommers, also known as "The Bionic Woman". In just 3 seasons and 57 episodes, she became a hero to many, being able to run at super speeds, crush items with her arm and hear sounds that nobody else could be able to. Much of the show's appeal and on-going poularity is how well-recieved the show became overall. After more than 30 years, this show is still a favorite among viewers of all ages. This character was originally featured in a 2-part episode of the series "The Six Million Dollar Man", starring Lee Majors as Steve Austin. Although she died at the end of that show, response to her was so overwhelming that she was resurrected due to popular demand. Thus, The Bionic Woman was reborn, this time with a series of her own. Also featured in the cast were Richard Anderson as Oscar Goldman and Martin E. Brooks as Dr. Rudy Wells, the two men responsible for reviving Jamie with her bionic implants. These two men also did the same for Steve Austin, as well. Not too many programs of that era had a female hero that people could easily identify with. "The Bionic Woman" was an innovative show that was also a lot of fun to watch, too. During the show's original run, Lindsay Wagner would go on to win the Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Dramatic Series. Now, here in the 21st century, "The Bionic Woman" should finally be released onto the DVD market, so that an entirely new generation can watch this classic show for themselves.Read full review
