Certainly better than city of Angels. Twist on the story as the hero is executed for murder. Of course he didn't do it so returns to avenge his dead love. Better actors too - Kirsten dunst and that tv reporter from Die hard. Bit silly that she doesn't recognise him at first being her sisters dead boyfriend but it filled an evening when tv was not showing much (most nights).

This is the 3rd of the 4 crow movies. Executed alex is brought back from the dead to avenge his girlfriends death that he was framed for. The 3 crow sequels are not a patch on the classic original. This one looks like a T.V movie to me. It's o.k if you don't compare it to the original.

This film "Salvation" is exactly that. After the big budget flop that was the "City of Angels" the third installment of the franchise follows more acurately with the sense of "Love is stronger than death" theme you had with the original. The cast list is like a who's who of people who were average at best in other films. The reporter from "Die Hard" 1 and 2, the bad guy from "The Last Ride" one of the "Likens" from "Underworld" and a few who finally have more than as bit-part to play. The vibe of the film is all about the story it's trying to tell rather than the "Look at me; I'm the star!" you get with other comic book films (Dare Devil, Electra, etc). Although the situation The Crow (Eric Mabius) finds himself in is diabolical (enough for the Crow apperation to happen) the nausiating flash back sceens made me wonder "are you really that hard done by?" You need to feel sorry and sadened by the Crow characters plite to help the viewer justify his revenge. Lee did this Perez did to a degree why couldn't Mabius? Anyway the production is close to the original without (thankfully) the over the top showyness of the second. the visual effects and make up are outstanding (Area51), a little over acting at times is forgivable but this is a good film in it's own right. Considering the sum of the parts and the expectation that being the Crow brings, it still should be a lot better. Curl up and watch with the misses, at least it's better than "Sex in the City".
