I didn't expect to have much sympathy for this author because of his blatant drug running, yet his honest, open approach really struch a chord. The conditions of foreign prisons do inspire sympathy for those stuck in them. The story is also a salutory warning to anyone foolish enough to consider drug running as a career choice, or even a one off. The long term consequences last far beyond the prison term and the prisoners themselves. This was also a very interesting read from a humanitarian perspective. After reading this you really can see why Amnesty International fights for the rights of those imprisoned in inumane conditions. But mostly, the author's brutally honest approach, without self-pity ends up showing us the frailty of mankind and makes you want to reach out and offer comfort and compassion. A really good read.Read full review
Amazing read, absolutely gripped from start to finish. It is a fascinating insight into what went on and maybe still goes on in jails in Thailand, and is a must read.
