If you are a fan of the humour of Prince Philip, then you are in for a real treat with this book. I think that half of the fun of HRH's "clangers" is the fact that so many people take them seriously. The man is an ex-Royal Navy officer who happens to be married to the Queen, so he gets dragged around the world to civic events in which he has little or no interest. To amuse himself he indulges in a typically British, tongue-firmly-in-cheek, spontaneous jest which leaves the person spoken with a feeling of "did he really just say that?" You can see the pleasure that he gains from this by the boyish twinkle in his eye and quick grin at their reaction. It has become such a regular thing that we are always intently watching for the next one! This book has a large number of his most (in)famous quips from his early ones up to his more recent. It would be foolish to spoil your pleasure to quote any, other than the the one in this title review from a visit to New Guinea - which has had a long history of cannibalism! Don't read this book if you have a weak bladder or you've just returned from an evening imbibing in the local ales. The results could be catastrophic!Read full review
