A good perspective on the Africa's rift. Good quality of the images, perhaps they insisted too much on how the rift was formed rather than showing more on the wildlife. Seems somehow unfinished, I have expected a little bit more attention on particular animals to this place. The scenes with lion prides hunting wildebeests or hippos in the middle of pools are much too common unfortunately on all discovery and National Geographic channels... They showed some particular animals, but didn't insist on them...I expected more in that direction. They used "the world's single starlight HD camera" to film in black&white chimps sleeping for 2 minutes? I bet there are better scenes to film at night with that. And as long as it is black&white, where is the HD? Perhaps it's better to wait with that camera until the technique has progressed more...(maybe that's why is the only one, no real use for it, standard nightvision is more or less same quality). Except these downsides, the documentary is quite OK, interesting and informative. Good pictures, decent commentaries.Read full review
