i remember viewing this on television so when my grandaughter said she was writing about tom jones in english,i remembered that it had been on tv,looked up ebay and there it was!!she was so pleased, but like with alot of young people they don't get back to you how she actually felt it helped,i just reminded her not to settle for a tom jones in her life,i saw the original in the cinema,i find it hard to compare, when this film came out the first one that is,it was so shocking hope this is of help ..
I bought this to replace a vhs version and I like classic period and costume dramas with a good cast. I am able to save space by getting rid of obsolete bulky videos and this has very slim covers. It is also a great low price so I am glad I bought it.
A very enjoyable historical romp

This is a wonderful romp from start to finish.

This is a real romp through history. I have no doubt that it was a shocking tale when it was first published and the director has tried to capture that feeling in the filming. The full frontal nudity (both male and female) caused a slight stir when it was first aired (last century!!), but it is totally within the context of the story/film. The acting is excellent and the casting of Brian Blessed as the heroine's father is fantastic - it could only be him! Well worth the money and the time to watch!
