Excellent book, brilliant author. Bought the rest of the series after reading Crossing Places and Janus Stone.

I have books from this company and given them five stars, but this time they only get three. As the pages of the book where very yellow/ discoloured, I think it may have been sitting on someones shelf for a long time. This was a bit off putting. The story it's self was very good. I have already read the next in this series.

The second book in this series by Elly Griffiths. Ruth Galloway again becomes involved in a police case with Detective Inspector Harry Nelson and it is just as good as the first book combining archeology, crime solving and mystery with underlying forbidden passion and a finale chase scene! Anyone who loved the first book will also enjoy this second offering, I was certainly obsessed with it as I was the first! Again I would say that it is more of a book for the ladies as the story revolves around Ruth and her life with much of it being her thoughts about her feelings but it is a great mix of action, fear and mystery along with these more personal notes.
Firensic archaeologist Ruth Galloway and DCI Harry Nelson are clled on to the case when a child's skeleton is discovered on a building site where a children's home used to be .A boy and a girl vanished 40 years ago - could they be involved and when someone tries to put them off the scent a forgotten crime becomes terrifying real with deadly consequences.A really good read - read one you will want to read the whole series.
