Eagerly awaited this book after devouring "The White Queen & The Red Queen", It did not disappoint !!!! Could not put the book down, exciting, moving, sad, joyful, a full range of emotions passed through my body as I read the story. It made the life & times of the Woodvilles (And Grey) family come to life and for the times, very daring to take those chances and choices. There is nothing to dislike in Philippa Gregorys historical fiction (Laced with fact), and as she does an amazing amount of research that it is athoroughly enjoyable romp into history. I would reccomend this book to all my friends (And have done !!) I'm now getting the next one "Kingmakers daughters" to continue the story of lives of the fairly obscure women in the early beginnings of the Tudor dynasty.
I bought this (Lady if the Rivers) and The White Queen; The Red Queen and The Kingmakers Daughter as the set:) I started reading fiction again in December and took The White Queen (the first book in "The Cousins Wars") to our weekend in Bruges ... finished it on the Sunday :) on the Monday went to visit the "Stadhuis" (Town Hall) to see the amazing vaulted Gothic gold Great Hall and it was CLOSED :( to the public as a film crew were filming "The White Queen!" So we shall go back to Bruges in Spring or summer 2013 and I shall see the Gothinc Great Hall when I view the BBC film/series. I LURVE Historic novels and The White Queen did not dissapoint :) I like to have all books in a Trilogy before I start reading the story ...
Philippa Gregory doesn't dissapoint, probably one of the best authors ever
