The first 'Lion' book by Nelson DeMille, followed a few years later by a sequel (led by reader demand) is a gripping tale of revenge by a Libyan terrorist against the individual American pilots who killed his family in a bombing raid on Tripoli. The gruesomeness of his actions are balanced by the wisecracking, non-PC, cynical ex-NYPD cop, John Corey., who doggedly tracks the terrorist across the U.S amid a wide array of colourful supporting characters and riveting situations. I love it! Along with Pride& Prejudice, Lucky Jim and Harry Potter, I read this book about every couple of years, always followed by the sequel, The Lion.
