Here is my review of the movie . The Loved Ones (2009) . Mine is a psychoanalytic interpretation. . . It seems that the Brent character has not gotten over the shock of the death of his father neither also the random nature of the event. He seems to be reviewing his role in the accident and by contrast, investigating the intentionality in the Lola character's actions. . Brent likes the woman Holly in whom he has taken some diversionary solace from his ongoing stress related to the traumatic accident where his father died. By contrast we see his projection into the reality-check Lola character whom he resists but whom he must connect with, if he is ever to successfully get over his self accusatory guilt, as driver of the vehicle, in which his father died. . The closing scene is very nice as it shows the Brent mother character and he bonding and supposably having from then on something to talk about beyond the myopic world they all lived in previously, before the father (and Brent's mother's spouse) died. . So refreshing; nearly as nice as The Sound Of Music, as endings go. Cheers. from, del-boy. o0oRead full review
