When I got this book, I was expecting a continuation of the story of Kvothe, but it isn't at all. This is a small but lovely book, and a great read, but it did leave me wondering where the third book in the trilogy had got to. ( Also I am a counsellor and couldn't help myself thinking it's a great description of "anxiety, OCD and maybe a bit of paranoid schizophrenia".)

You need to understand the story behind Auri, by reading the first 2 chronicles of the King killer. Otherwise the reader will not understand who she is or where she lives.
