I have one of these and I use it as an emergency food container in the pack in my car. It was made along similar lines to the pilots emergency bail out ration tins issued to pilots in WWII. The tin itself is well made with a good tight fitting lid which the handle folds over to reduce it size. Being made of thin (ish) aluminium it's certainly not as strong as say a British Army ToC mess tin is so if mistreated it could get dented. One word of warning though. The edge of the tin and lid where the excess metal formed during construction was cut off leaves a SHARP edge. This is easily rectified by using either and emery board or wet and dry paper to gently take the sharp edges off and you're good to go. My second one will hold a BCB Fire Dragon stove and six gel fuel blocks plus a small ferro rod and striker. If you're going ultra light and want a small mess tin, consider this one.Read full review

The mess tins are now in good use by a member of the Royal Marines Cadets. Perfect size and the lid is a bonus for keeping the items clean inside.

I like these mess tins, they are light, not too big so easy to pack even in a small rucksack but enough room for an alcohol cooker and basics. Because they are light they are not very strong and could bend easily.

Delivered earlier than expected. Good quality and love it. I believe this product is designed in Sweden and bought in the UK, so all in Europe but the package box is designed in Japanese though I’m Japanese Haha.
