A very youthful /Naive or possibly innocent gentle recording. I found it a little jangling but also enjoyed the joyous bits.

A charming and evocative cameo from the past, so emblematic of the period.

Thanks in no small part to Diamond Day having been picked up as the soundtrack to a recent TV advertisment there has been a resurgence of interest in Vashti Bunyan. Discovered by Andrew Loog-Oldham and given a Jagger/Richards song for her debut single, Vashti left the music business behind and set off for Northern parts with a dog and caravan. Over two Summers she came up with the songs that form the majority of this album, and it was originally released in 1970. On the remastered CD release you get the original 14 tracks plus 4 bonus tracks. The sleeve liner notes contain lyrics and contemporary photos. Vashti has a wonderfully pure voice and is still out there singing today. This though is a record of those two late 1960s Summers touring. If you like what you're heard of Diamond Day on the advert, buy this and listen to the full version here plus all the other songs.Read full review
