Match 1 - RVD & Rey Mysterio Vs The Dudley Boyz An excellent way to open the show. Good chemistry all round and told a pretty good story with the Dudleys acting as great heels. Mysterio was exciting as always. Good back and fourth action here and got the crowd pumped up really well. ***1/2 Match 2 - Torrie Wilson Vs Dawn Marie This was poor, neither of these two looked like they belonged in the ring. A sloppy match all round. Even the added stipulation of Torrie getting fired if she lost really didn't help this match whatsoever. One comedy moment saved this from being a DUD. 1/2* Match 3 - Scotty 2 Hotty Vs Mordecai Just a short squash, just a card filler and to introduce Mordecai. Nothing interesting to say about this match, just Scotty jobbing again. 3/4* Match 4 - Charlie Haas & Rico Vs Hardcore Holly & Billy Gunn - WWE Tag Team Championships The whole Rico gimmick kind of killed this match, and it was insulting to the tag team division of the WWE. Once it got serious, it was OK and fairly watchable, but once again, seemingly mediocre for a PPV match. *1/2 Match 5 - Chavo Guerrero Vs Jacqueline - Cruiserweight Championship Another ridiculous match, that gives the Cruiserweight division no credibility. No affense to Jackie who is a good female wrestler, this was just a joke. The match itself was well booked, but this should have never happened anyway. * Match 6 - John Cena Vs Rene Dupree - United States Championship Finally a hint of excitement on this PPV. After a pretty slow start this match picked up and became pretty entertaining. The two youngsters moved nicely around the ring and had some decent chemistry with eachother. I would have liked to have seen a few more minutes of this, which indicates this was pretty good. **1/2 Match 7 - Booker T Vs The Undertaker An OK match, not one of Taker's best performances, but nevertheless it wasn't bad. Taker made Booker T look credible at least. Solid effort from both men. ** Match 8 - John Bradshaw Layfield Vs Eddie Guerrero This really made the PPV. A brutal match that was enjoyable from start to finish. We saw a new side of both these guys that I never thought I'd see from them. A destruction derby and a bloodbath that was really enjoyable. After it was all said and done you will be wanting more, and probably want to watch it again, that's how good this was. ****1/4 PPV Score - 6.5 Overall, from top to bottom this wasn't too good. There were a few matches on the card that aren't even worth watching. If you're going to buy this DVD, buy it for the opener and then don't hesitate to just skip to the last three matches.Read full review
