It took a bit of experimenting with the amount of washers you either put above or below the vent also how much you tighten the lock nut, 3 washers below and hand tight for lock nut for me worked perfect even without and wind.

Well, this is my first experience of owning or fitting an air vent so as far as a comparison goes, I don't have sufficient previous knowledge. Therefore this review is based on my expectations vs reality. Fitting is easy, no issues - other than the diagram shows washers for the 4xM5 fittings, there were no washers in my kit? .. Running.. well once installed the upper unit fits back on the central shaft and is then secured with a 13mm bolt.. Now I tried this bolt at every level of loose and tight and the unit does not spin freely at all.. I have seen others spinning freely in the breeze, mine is currently finger tight and does not. The unit has up and down play and wobbles when it turns to the point that you can hear it catching on the underside.. I'm sure at 50mph it will spin, but then i think i would be spinning if i were sat on the top of a transit high top at 50mph.. So in a nutshell.. its cheaper than most which is good!! I'm not convinced it's entirely fit for purpose but if someone wants to tell me any little fitting secrets which might make it 100% then I'm all ears! Read full review
