Hadn't heard any of WA's new material for a couple of decades although I had replaced a few of their early CDs. The opening track, 'Mountainside', is a good starter for the CD. The only track I found went on too long was 'Tales of the Wise'. When I first listened, not many of the tracks caught my attention but after playing it a couple of times I can see why Andy Powell is still rocking as Wishbone Ash. Sometimes you can hear the old style of WA in the content. Bands move on & their style changes and in the end I'd say I wasn't disappointed with this CD. I would buy more of their more recent material.
I bought this album on spec. I'm a big Wishbone Ash fan from back when they were in their original and second line ups. I hadn't heard any of the newer stuff, and I have to say that I'm dissapointed. Maybe it's no surprise really as the line up is so radically different and well, things have moved on. A great band in their day, but now alas lecking their once razor sharp edge.
great album well worth the buy. some brilliant guitar work. one track has a sound like deep purple. 1st track is a good taster as to what the rest of the album is like.
