Good product, hard to put up

Once up it’s good quality, but getting there is something else. Need someone who is very capable and can make sense of the rather sketchy instructions which aren’t the easiest to follow. Recommend once up, but took lot longer than four hours to put up.

  • Most critical review

Fine garden store, but not secure.

Make no mistake unless you have long arms, no wind or breeze at all and lots of patience, your going to need a hand to put it together. It's straight forward enough, instructions helpful if basic and the store once erected is not bad at all. The self tapping screws supplied with the kit are quite poor and I found around 50% wouldn't drive in or didn't hold securely if they did. I went and bought a few packs of better ones and this made the build faster and far less frustrating. Make sure you've plenty of room, have good level ground to build it on, ideally not on a windy day. Also pre organise the components into roof, front, back and sides with the correct size screws before you start, get a friend to help and you'll be fine. The doors are a flimsy affair sliding on plastic guides in metal runners. Even if you lock the handles together it's quite easy to get in. That being said, with a little ingenuity they can be made a better but they let down an otherwise fine garden store.

  • Excellent Product

A bit difficult to follow instructions as only pictures but once you start to understand the procedure it was a easy. Needs two to assemble but very good quality product and very good value compared to plastic alternative.

  • Strong and good looking

I purchased this shed "others" had had a go at and I found it real easy to assemble provided you follow the instructions and you have trade skills. I suggest it is not for the weekend DIY office person. I assembled it on my own from the start although my neighbour helped me lift the roof on. I did have to make some adjustments since the previous "owner" had spoiled a lot of the roof section and I needed larger screws to fasten the roof panels and so on. I reiterate it is an easy assembly if you read the instruction; look at the sections then look again before you assemble. It's the same philosophy "measure twice - cut once" and work slowly and accurately. I spent 2 days building it and another positioning the shed and fixing it to the foundation I had layed. I'm real pleased, it looks real good and I bought it at a great price. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a little higher skills.

  • 2 MAN BUILD

The shed once built is quite stable but building it if there is any wind is out of the question. The instructions could be a lot clearer and each piece could be marked more clearly. With the metal being very thin (about 1mm thick) you need to be careful not to over tighten the screws, if not you will strip the predrilled hole. There are plenty of self tapping square washers but you are not told to use them generally and they need to be used with all screws. If attempting to build on your own you will need 3 hands.. when building the door panels there are 2 plastic guider blocks, 1 for each door..and there needs to be 2 for each door to ensure it slides correctly ...I had to make up 2 extra blocks! The doors work perfectly now. Once built you do need to secure it to the floor with the anchor bolts or long (3") screws. All that said it can take 4-5 hours to build in calm weather. Overcome the niggling problems and all in all a good value shed.

  • Great....but!

Brilliant shed, went together well, we took our time having read other reviews! Only problem we had were that there were no small washers. But YES would recommend this product.

  • Good looking shed that takes time to assemble

Although it it refurbished this shed looks like . It takes time and care to assemble as it arrived like a large meccano with Ikea style instructions, so there was a little "trial and error" at times. However all the holes lined up well and the finished product is a good looking and robust shed which is very stable when secured to a firm base.

  • Metal garden storage

When putting together it was tricky at times but had a few friends to help. Istructions wernt too bad to understand. Looked them over a few times . My friend too just to make sure. At one point it needed three of us when it came to putting the roof on . We did laugh alot. Worth it in the end. The only thing is the doors are not as secure as i would want . But it keeps everything in garden . Its just the right size we wanted. Love it.

  • Yardmaster 788 Garden Store

I put this shed together on my own in less than a day. The diagrams are comprehensive but it's easy to make mistakes. For instance getting the corner pieces upside down or counting the overlapping holes in the diagram for the two pieces making up the rear base -it's five but when you put it together you realise it should only be four! The drill bit needed to create the holes for the rawplugs are too bit to go through the anchor point screw hole so you will need to mark the drilling point and then move the shed slightly before drilling. I hoped to get three bikes in it but only managed two and that was a squeeze as the doors aren't quite wide enough and it needed persuasion. It's easier getting inside if you are small. Looks good and once anchored feels solid.
