Broke my S5, the screen went black but I could hear e-mails chime & other notifications so guessed it was the screen. Visit to the high street saw quotes ranging from £95 (independent) to £169 (large chain) to fix. Looked at trading it in to the value of £15. I decided to research how to do it on line and then bought the replacement. Following the video it took about 30 minutes to heat and remove the screen, the screen connector was easy to unplug but the home button nearly yanked off and the connection got a little strained. Also there were lots of broken silver shards as the glass came away from the silver LCD. Tried my best to clean out the silver shards from the existing glue and it was very fiddly to get the board connected back up. Tested with the battery and was excited to see the screen come into life. The home button was easier to align and the display has glue around it so you don't have to buy that separately. Aligned the display and heated the edges to make the glue stick. Popped the screws back in, battery & back back in and it is like new (although home button wobbles a little which is probably my fault on dismantling). So glad I didn't write it off or pay over the odds for a repair or cash it in for little value. I would give it 5 stars but it is day 1 and I am not sure of longevity also the screen isn't as vibrant as it was but it was better than expected so here is 4 stars.Read full review

Purchased to replace a broken LCD. Screen arrived very quickly (next day for me). Screen fits the frame of the phone perfectly but the home button is slightly out of shape so the button is a bit loose. The screen when powered on, has a different colour to the back light, a bit more blue than OEM. The touch functionality works perfectly. Overall - if like me, you use your phone like a phone, there is nothing wrong with this product. I can use my phone again and it didnt cost the earth. I wouldnt buy this again but simply because i would just buy a new phone instead.

Please note, this isn't an OLED (or AMOLED) display, it is an LCD (TFT). I said this first because OLEDs always have better contrast and viewing angles than LCD's, so it won't look exactly like the original screen. With that said, for the price its remarkable. It is the same size and resolution as the original S5 display - 1920x1080, and even in fast frame video has no noticeable ghosting. It's not quite as bright as the original screen when on full brightness - but the original was far too bright on that setting anyway. It is fully readable even in full sunlight, which is great for an LCD. The only slight gripe is, being an LCD it is slightly thicker. OLED's can be as thin as paper, and the original was, but this display is about 1mm thick. It comes with screen protector, and backing adhesive so you don't need to purchase the adhesive strips separately, and just about fits if you clamp it down whilst the glue drys. All in all, I'm thoroughly impressed. As stated, it isn't an OLED, but is far superior to other after market displays which downscale the resolution. Certainly worth the price, especially when an original screen is about £90.Read full review

Initially with the bad reviews I was anxious about trying this product but glad I did! My son dropped his phone, although could still hear notifications and calls coming through the phone. Took to a few repair shops to be quoted no less than £200!! So I thought I would give it a bash myself and if it didn't work just buy a new phone. It Worked!!! I watched a video on you tube used a hairdryer only about 30 secs at a time a few debit cards and the old screen popped off, with a little bit of help. I took my time when I was around the ribbons and home button, No issues with the home button feels just the same as previously. I think it must depend if you get it out well as it is sticky take it slow. Peeled off the sticky backing tape place the screen in place pressed down gently and I was back up and running the screen colour is slightly darker but nothing to complain about the phone works again. For less than £25. I have never done anything like this before and it was really simple after I watched the you tube video took me about 20 mins at the most. Worth a try. Read full review

I have had a broken S5 for over a year due to price of LCD screens but found prices are reasonable now so purchased this one. For a non original screen its very good. I tested it along side an original S5 amoled screen and thats where the lack of deep colours and contrast shows up but dont let that put you off buying one, it really is not that different. It is a lot better thsn some screens I have fitted. Overall, a good screen at a very affordable price, my S5 is up and running again for a little over £25 quid!
