About us

Chapter 1 trades out of four premises that are all in the Johannesburg area. Our emphasis is providing quality books at highly competitive prices. A large (and continuously growing) selection of our books are listed on various websites on the internet.

We post on a daily basis to all parts of the world. All our books are parcelled in tissue paper, bubble wrap, card board and strong brown paper. If the book has a dust jacket it is provided with a protective cellophane sleeve. We supply a tracking number on every parcel that we post.

Our main shop is located at 67 Grant avenue, Norwood in Johannesburg.

I was worried Fed Express package would not prevent book from getting wet today, but I was wrong. Very, very well packaged. Inside the envelope it was in a cardboard container and inside that it was wrapped in plastic. Book is perfect. Very happy and would not hesitate to buy from her again.

    What lovely personal service. I received an email to let me know the book was on its way. Book was in excellent second hand condition. Just as described. It was packed well with tissue paper as inner wrapping to add additional protection. I was impressed with the care taken to deliver this book to me .
