About us
Island Ropes & Rigging was created by Jim Martin and Steve Hayman who met back in 2011. Jim was the Director of a lifting company with multiple sites and depots around South Wales, the South West and South of England. At the time Steve was working for one of the UK’s largest rope manufacturers specialising in the working at height, commercial marine, small cord and the winching and lifting market sectors. They came to realise that only offering rope from one manufacturer can hamper the customer and their idea was born to create a company where by working with a selection of Europe’s largest and leading manufacturers the customer could be provided with a choice of products suitable for their application.
