In Montana, growing up included stories of gold and sapphire mining. Given the romanticism and challenge to use these elements, Lithos Jewelry opened in 1984. The quest for knowledge continued with both Lornie and Rose becoming Graduate Gemologists with the Gemological Institute of America. They became Certified Appraisers of Personal Property with the International Society of Appraisers of which there were only 28 in North America. They learned to facet precious gemstones. Lornie became a Master Goldsmith. A sense of adventure took them to the mines in Thailand and Kenya. They became active participants in the jewelry industry which included speaking at the major jewelry shows. Rose was on the retail advisory committee for Centurion. They became friends with many of the international designers. Once again there is the challenge to morph. They are now moving from "bricks and mortar" to online, virtual retailing. In one word this culminates in honesty and integrity.
