When I was little, my dad used to tell me, "There's not a grab bag or trinket you don't like." Now, as a child, you'd never admit it, but as an adult, of course he was right.

Fast forward years later when I was dating. I used to make my dates go to indoor antique stores or a flea market on first dates. Why? Because nothing is more awkward than sitting at a table and having nothing to talk about. Flea markets offered automatic conversation starters and little awkward silence. Whether remembering a toy you cherished when you were little, that lamp you broke of your mom's, or something you used to see every summer in your grandma's kitchen, there's always a story to be shared and a new memory to create.
