Why buy at auction when you don't know what the cost of repairs will be, how long those repairs will take, get caught up in a bidding war, never have a chance to play the instrument or bow? You don't even know what you're buying when you win at auction! Why do that? With my store, I run zero overhead costs. I back up my sale to you with a 2-week trial period; 100% refund if you are not fully satisfied. Many of the instruments/bows that I sell are certified and repaired. With one or two exceptions, the bows that I sell are ready to use upon delivery. With an auction house, you carry all the liability; the auction house carries zero liability. (Read their terms of service that you must agree to before you place a bid.) Lastly, my prices are far lower than what you will find in any music store or violin shop. I never charge the retail price. Violin/Music shops always charge full retail because they have to in order to keep their doors open.
